Junior Counselors – Rising High School Juniors and Seniors &
General Counselors – HS Graduates and College Students
Counselors are the heart of the Next Level experience for our campers. First and foremost, Counselors supervise and guide campers through the day to day elements of camp, ensuring emotional and physical well being, and serving as a role model.
As a counselor at Next Level you will build your communication and leadership skills, your collaboration and conflict resolution skills and your ability to be flexible as an integral part of a team that has daily impact on their campers.
The main responsibilities of a Counselor at Next Level will be to serve as primary caretaker, ensuring the day to day safety and physical and emotional well being of their campers.
Counselors will facilitate the camper experience by ensuring participation in programs, positive group dynamics, development of friendships and the creation of a meaningful and memorable experience for each camper. Work with other camp staff to ensure the positive resolution of all camper related issues by communicating clearly and consistently with camp leadership staff on a daily basis. Serve as a positive role model, exemplifying the core values of Next Level Day Camps. Create and maintain positive relationships with other counselors and Leadership Staff.
Counselors may also get to work in a specialty area of camp. In addition to working as a Counselor your skills or talents may also be used to spend part of your day helping in an area of camp such as sports, arts, STEM, photography, office, health center or additional camp programming.
Qualified candidates are enthusiastic, energetic, creative and responsible individuals who exhibit sound judgment and an understanding of the impact they will have on each camper’s experience. A love of working with children is key to the success of this position.
Become a Next Level Sports Specialist
Next Level offers a wide variety of athletics including basketball, flag football, soccer, tennis, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball and more! Generally, athletics are taught by specialty coaches who are proficient in an individual sport. They organize and implement fun lessons and coach our campers.
Although some of our campers will have had a lot of exposure to the sport you are coaching we encourage all of our campers to participate in all sports even if they have little or no experience. Excellent instruction and good sportsmanship are valued over performance so that all campers are equipped with the skills and confidence to be able to play all sports and enjoy the experience.
Become a Next Level Creative Arts & Science Specialist
Our creative arts and science instructors are responsible for the planning, preparation, and implementation of their particular activity.
They create a fun and inviting environment where kids love to come and be creative.
As a creative arts specialist, you will be instructing kids ages 3 – 14, maintaining an organized and inviting studio environment, and accommodating the many and varied needs of summer camp that involve artistic assistance which can include special events and talent shows.
